Learn more about Nattokinase

What is Nattokinase?

Nattokinase is a purified enzyme extracted from a Japanese food called nattō.

Nattō is produced by fermentation via adding the bacterium Bacillus Natto, which also produces the enzyme, to boiled soybeans. While other soy foods also contain enzymes, it is only nattō that contains the specific nattokinase enzyme.

Nattokinase was first discovered in 1980. Dr. Hiroyuku Sum isolated nattō's active ingredient and called it "nattokinase," which means "enzyme in natto."

How does Nattokinase work?

Studies show that nattokinase dissolves blood clots, which helps maintain good blood vessel structure, improves blood flow, and lowers the risk of heart disease.

It can also help lower your blood pressure, reducing strain on the heart that can lead to heart attacks.

Studies have found that nattokinase can help with cardiovascular diseases and heart conditions.
