Product overview

Resveratrol (Trans-Resveratrol) is a natural phenol produced by plants in response to injury or pathogens. It is found in foods such as grapes, blueberries, raspberries, and more, as well as in red wine. As a supplement, it is said to help improve blood pressure, cholesterol levels, body weight, and blood cell health. In addition, it is often combined with NMN for increased anti-aging effects.

Dosing and storage

Recommended daily dose: up to 1g. Do not exceed.

Shelf life: 2 years.

Resveratrol only dissolves in fat sources, therefore it should be taken together with e.g. a spoon of olive oil, coconut oil, full-fat yogurt, or similar.

Free measuring spoon included. The spoon holds 0.4g Resveratrol and is dishwasher safe. For other products, please note that density may differ and the spoon may hold a different mass.

Store in a cool, dark place. Keep away from children.

For additional questions about dosing and storage, don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Quality

Lab-certified 99%+ pure white powder.

This product is created through a process of chemical synthesis, which, contrary to what could be assumed, is the better solution as it achieves a higher purity than Resveratrol from plant sources and contains less heavy metals. Furthermore, Resveratrol from synthesis does not degrade and turn brown like plant-based Resveratrol often does.

We do not recommend Resveratrol produced from grapes as these are among the most sprayed crops. This can result in pesticide residues in the product.

The bioavailability of both types of Resveratrol is the same.

Resveratrol is temperature stable and does not need to be cooled during shipment, but we recommend keeping it refrigerated whenever possible. For long-term storage, this product may be placed in the freezer.

Learn more about Resveratrol

What is Resveratrol?

Resveratrol (Trans-Rresveratrol) is a stilbenoid, a type of natural phenol, and a phytoalexin produced by several plants in response to injury or when the plant is under attack by pathogens, such as bacteria or fungi.

Sources of Resveratrol in food include the skin of grapes, blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, peanuts, and certain roots.

Red wine contains at most 12.6mg Resveratrol per liter - so, to get a daily dose of 1g resveratrol, you would have to drink 80 liters or 106 bottles of red wine every day.

How does Resveratrol work?

Resveratrol has numerous health benefits. Because of its antioxidant properties, Resveratrol could be a promising supplement for lowering blood pressure.

Several studies in animals have suggested that Resveratrol supplements may change blood fats in a healthy way. In these studies, the average total cholesterol levels and body weight decreased, and the levels of 'good' HDL cholesterol increased.

Other animal studies have shown that Resveratrol supplements have increased lifespan.

The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity of Resveratrol protects brain cells from damage.

Resveratrol has been shown to have several benefits for diabetes like increasing insulin sensitivity and preventing complications.

Supplementing with resveratrol may help relieve joint pain by preventing cartilage from breaking down.

In animal and test-tube studies,Resveratrol has shown the ability to fight several kinds of cancer cells, including gastric, colon, skin, breast, and prostate.

Resveratrol is often used in combination with NMN as an anti-aging supplement since it enhances the effect of NMN.

Great product and quality! I used to have stomach problems with another brand, but no issues at all with this one. I actually had it tested at an independent lab, and the results show it's the best on the market.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Resveratrol?

Resveratrol is a natural polyphenol and powerful antioxidant found in certain plants, fruits, and red wine. It is known for its potential health benefits, including supporting cardiovascular health, protecting cells from oxidative stress, and promoting longevity. Resveratrol is often derived from sources like red grape skin, blueberries, and Japanese knotweed.

What does Resveratrol do?

Resveratrol provides several health benefits, including:

  • Cellular Protection: Acts as an antioxidant, protecting cells from damage caused by free radicals,
  • Heart Health: Supports healthy blood flow and may help reduce inflammation in blood vessels,
  • Longevity Support: Influences genes associated with aging and has been linked to increased lifespan in some studies,
  • Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Helps reduce inflammation throughout the body.
What color should Resveratrol be?

Pure resveratrol powder should be a light beige to off-white color. Variations in color can occur due to natural differences in raw material sources. If the powder appears significantly discolored, it may indicate oxidation or contamination, and you should verify the product's quality.

How to choose a Resveratrol supplement?

When choosing a resveratrol supplement, consider the following:

  • Purity: Look for supplements that offer a high percentage of trans-resveratrol, the active form that provides the most benefits,
  • Source: Ensure the resveratrol is derived from quality sources like Japanese knotweed or grape skin,
  • Third-Party Testing: Choose products that have been independently tested for purity and potency. Hansen Supplements provides a Certificate of Analysis for transparency,
  • Form: Decide between powder or capsules based on your preference for dosing flexibility.
How to take Resveratrol powder?

Resveratrol powder can be mixed with water, juice, or smoothies. For best results:

  • Take it with a source of dietary fat, like olive oil or a meal, to enhance absorption.
  • Use the free measuring spoon included with the product to ensure accurate dosing.
  • For greater accuracy, you can also use our precision scale, available here.
What is trans-resveratrol vs. resveratrol?

Trans-resveratrol is the most bioactive form of resveratrol. It is the form responsible for the majority of resveratrol's health benefits, including antioxidant activity and support for cellular health. In supplements, "resveratrol" usually refers to a mix of trans-resveratrol and cis-resveratrol. Always choose a supplement that specifies a high concentration of trans-resveratrol for optimal effects.

How much Resveratrol should I take?

The recommended daily dose of resveratrol is 100–500 mg, depending on your health goals. For accurate measurement, Hansen Supplements includes a free measuring spoon with each product, or you can use a precision scale for exact dosing. Always follow the product label and consult a healthcare provider for personalized guidance.

What foods have Resveratrol?

Resveratrol is naturally found in:

  • Red grapes and red wine,
  • Blueberries,
  • Cranberries,
  • Japanese knotweed (a rich source used in supplements),
  • Dark chocolate,

While these foods contain resveratrol, supplementation offers a concentrated dose for maximum benefits.

When should I take Resveratrol?

Resveratrol is best taken with a meal that contains dietary fats to enhance absorption. Some users prefer taking it in the morning, while others find it effective in the evening. Consistency is key, so choose a time that works best for your routine.
